The charm of nature

Located between 500 and 700 meters above sea level, Parco La Martina is a wild green lung where oaks, maples, poplars and alders offer coolness, shelter and home to dozens and dozens of animal species, a true natural paradise a stone's throw from the city!

From the common ungulates typical of the Apennines such as roe deer and deer to the friendly mammals such as the hedgehog, passing through the most common rodents: squirrels and dormice, here the mountain life thrives.

Equally rich and varied is the avifauna: finch, pigeon, woodpecker, raven and tit alternate with nocturnal "cousins", suggestive birds of prey with unmistakable verses. Here then, as soon as night falls in the forests owls, owls and barn owls peep out.

A real suggestive magic a few kilometers from Bologna!

Now it's your turn!

Here is an idea for a very special day in La Martina Park: go into the park's silk with a tape recorder (the phone is fine too) and use it to try to record the sounds and cries of the birds you will hear. Once back home, go on the internet and look for videos or audios with the sounds of birds typical of our mountains and try to see how many you have seen or heard!

Activities for everyone at the La Martina Park
